I’ve been creating art that starts out 2-dimensional, but which is designed to be manipulated (by folding and gluing) into 3-dimensional shapes. Join in the fun and create your own foldable pyramids, cubes, prisms, and other shapes.

Here’s the idea… you purchase a PDF file of any of my foldable shapes and print it out on your computer. The pdf file will be sent to your email address as soon as payment has been confirmed (usually a minute or so). That’s it - no physical object will be sent to you. All you need is some cardstock (regular printer paper is too thin to be foldable), scissors, coloring media (if you want to add color), and rubber cement or glue.

Once you’ve printed out the design, you can color it (if you wish) and have the fun of folding the shape (following simple instructions) and gluing it together. Each pdf file contains several versions of the shape. There is a black and white version for you to print out on either white or colored cardstock and then color (if you wish). Another version comes with a colored background (so you don’t need to have colored cardstock). The third version I have fully colored myself, so it is all ready for you to assemble. Print whichever one(s) you like, and let your creativity flow as you add color to the designs. These shapes make delightful and original gifts.

When you’re done, you’ll have a charming object that you can use in a variety of ways. It makes a great conversation piece when displayed on your coffee table. Print out several shapes and use each one as decoration on the plates at your next dinner party. You can attach a ribbon or string and hang the shape; a dozen shapes hanging from a simple rod makes a charming mobile. Place a small object inside the shape before gluing it closed and have a fun gift to share with someone special.

Best of all, because you own the pdf file, you can print out as many shapes as often as you like and fold them up to give for birthdays, holidays, graduation surprises, etc.

These charming pyramids are 3-1/4” tall, and each of the 6 triangular sides and the base has a different flower design. You can make it in black and white (to be colored in the media of your choice), print it with a violet background, or print out an already fully-colored version.

2 - Note Cards

Hand made and artist produced note cards are a terrific way to share your thoughtfulness with friends and family. I have created a line of note cards using my Zentangle-inspired art, and you won’t see these cards in any card shop.

The cards are all blank inside and the artwork is mounted on colorful paper with coordinating (but usually not exactly matching) envelopes - no boring white envelopes here! Most cards are 5” x 7”, and can be used for any occasion - or just to share your thoughts any time of year.

Some of the cards have my foldable shapes attached, so the recipient gets a card plus a gift in the same envelope - and for less than the cost of most mass-produced cards.

3 - Drawings to Color and Print

Get out your colored pencils and marking pens to express your creativity and have fun coloring my hand-drawn art. You can use the drawings as small framed art pieces. The border designs are great for personal stationery with ZING! or to make a poster really stand out. Since the border designs are white in the center, you can also use them as a border for a favorite quote.

The art I do is mostly inspired by the Zentangle® method of pattern drawing, which uses simple strokes in a mindful way to create small works of art. Each of the drawings uses a number of unique patterns – called tangles – ranging from geometric to organic; there are hundreds of different named tangles that are used to create Zentangle-inspired art, and I incorporate many in all my drawings. In addition to being a delight to color, this is a great way to discover some tangles to use on your own drawings.
